We had a visitor
His name is Chase. We didn't get close or interact with him, and he gave us a clean bill of health. After he was finished and the bill paid, Trevor, his partner, hid a "lure" under a chair cushion and had Chase find it successfully, as a method of reinforcement. Evidently, we'll be seeing him again, as they have a contract to checkout our new residence regularly twice a year.
The last few days we've reached the stage of going through paper. I've always believed in a "paper trail", so have routinely saved receipts and warrantee documents. We shredded anything with any identifying info on it, but anything else went into recycling. So did all the shredded paper for that matter. Most of the stuff had been kept in a plastic "Banker" box, but there was also a large metal box and smaller wooden box as well as a small wicker box. My goal was to have nothing but the wicker box, as it fits nicely on my bookshelf. (laughing hysterically😂) What we did do was to empty about 50% of the "Banker" box. This gave us room to store all of the card stock that I've collected over the years to use in my EPP. This will help hold the remaining file folders in position, preventing the sort of mess that I've often dealt with over the years.
Amber was over yesterday, and cleaned out most of my freezer space, targeting the protein. She also took about 40% of the contents of the pantry. This may mean that David and I eat out more often over the next week, but this has been budgeted for, and relieves my mind.
Today, we finally get to tour our suite. We've had trouble coordinating a visit, between workers in the suite, staff on holidays, and our schedule. Our moving company "Carefree Concierge" has worked out a floor plan based on the furniture we want to take, so the move itself should go easily. I also called them this morning and arranged to have their people load up and take any residue furniture etc to the thrift store, following the actual move. My peace of mind is well worth the extra cost.
And on to my small pleasure of the day. We have reduced our kitchen dishes etc. to what we will need in the suite, where I will be hand washing dishes daily. But, I'm loath to give up my dishwasher until absolutely necessary. Which means that we run out of cutlery and coffee mugs. So I'm reduced to using my my treasured Kathryne Koop mugs for my morning tea. Pity (snort)😏
Oops! Here I am still sitting in my nightie and our appointment in just over an hour. Gotta go! Love you both.
