Feast or Famine
We either have more medical-related appts than I can deal with or no activity at all, which means catching up with housework and purging. Today we're "power cooking", but next Mon., Tues., and Wed. we have 4 appointments, three of which are on the other side of town. As well as the "power cooking", today is also laundry day. The "power cooking" is a result of us having almost emptied the freezer, and still no possession date.
David spends a fair bit of time in the garden. With all the rain, we've only had a couple of days to sit out there and read. Rather, we're spending time, in the house, watching the antics of young squirrels. They play in our tree, or tussle at the foot of the the tree. We can hear the barks, chirps, and growls from in the house. There were originally 5 of them but one fell out of a tree onto the road, and died. We also have small grey squirrels, but there just appears to be 2 of them. Those both have the white ears that we've been seeing around here ever since we moved in. I assume the white ears are a genetic thing and not caused by freezing, which was out first thought. Not so many birds at the feeder this year but there are lot of crows around to blame.
The young man cuts the grass once a week, and then goes around with his weed-eater to clean up the borders. This week he went a little too far and cut off 3 of the 4 blooms we had on the Lady Slippers. We acknowledge that it was an accident but David was quite upset when he came into the house.
Laundry under control, and all of the cooking pretty well done. My next job is to sort out all of the plastic containers in the pantry. The joy of that job is that the extras can just be thrown away.
Stay safe ladies and know you are loved.
Know how special your Lady Slippers are to you folks.....and sorry that they were cut. Is there any permanent damage? I expect you will have to leave them anyway when you move? XX
