getting there

We're both feeling better, but we're not at the finishing line yet.  One good thing that's happening is that we're able to sit in our garden and read.  We also watch the neighbours across the back getting their garden ready.  So much work!  We also watch the bird feeder and work out what sort of routine each individual animal or bird has established.  There is what appears to be an elderly grey squirrel who comes in the late afternoon for food. He moves slowly but is as quick as a snake if some other creature attempts to eat or to chase the grey away from his chosen feeder.  Yes, we have two feeders going, one for bird food and one for peanuts in the shell.  The grey took awhile to figure out how to get up to the peanut feeder, and he always looks awkward doing it, but once he's there it's his, and woe betide any red squirrel that might attempt to chase him off.  There are also a pair of Blue Jays that like the peanuts and show up twice a day looking for them.  If the peanuts aren't there, there is a lot of squawking.

We went shopping yesterday, visiting three different stores, but wearing masks in every one.  We also got the laundry done, and there is no remorse when it's done over two days.  So life is evolving towards a more "laid back", casual style.  Eating in front of the tv, and maybe more finger food than would be used in more polite company.

Things are moving along in the studio.  I've even found another EPP project that I could get involved in once TulaNova is finished. Yesterday morning I ordered the templates from England and Amazon promised delivery by tomorrow.  H'mmm.  we'll see.

H'mm again.  It's 11:00am Sunday morning, and I think I'm hearing fireworks.  Beth, do you remember the wonderful fireworks displays we used to see at the community club on Victoria Day?  That was a "big deal" when we were young.  I wonder if they are still doing it.  They had the benefit of a huge field at the back of the property, so no worries about neighbours, but that field is full of houses now.

David is strongly suggesting that I spend the day in the studio, so best get at it.  I should maybe even put clothes on.  Have a wonderful holiday weekend ladies--even if we're all retired now, and holidays don't have the same significance anymore.
