It was wonderful!!

We've reached the stage where we only have smaller jobs to do, and those in consideration of the count-down calendar to moving day. This means that there is time in every day to relax.  Yesterday I was down to the studio by 1:00, for the first time in weeks, not to purge but to do whatever I wanted to do. Over the past few years, I've made 5 quilted pieces using techniques described by Maria Shell.  With each of those pieces there have been left over bits of stitched together fabrics, almost a bin full.  Yesterday I stitched together various of those leftovers into 9 1/2" squares--32 of them, trimmed and ready to be used in 2 donation quilts.  This was the first time in years that I put in such a labour intensive day in the studio.  I was thrilled at the energy I had without caffeine and thrilled at how much I accomplished.  I have yet to throw out the few remaining scraps, but hope to find the emotional release that that will allow me to do that.

Otherwise we're on track.  I have a couple of phone calls to make today, and we're moving some fabric into the bottom drawer of David's empty dresser, so that we have room for the three bolts of fabric left from the purge of the biggest shelving units, that needs to be in the bottom of the small china cabinet to fit.  The fabric that was stored there will then go into the dresser. This is the sort of game we play every day.

The same sort of game goes on with food shopping. How much of what do we buy, with the hope of ending up with the least amount of food to be taken to the new suite. Along with that, we're trying to eat out of the freezer, so as to have an empty freezer when we move out--next week!  Oh, the games we play!

David has left his computer and has headed outside.  Best I get dressed and tend to business.  I love you both but have always had trouble say it.
