I'm alive and well and living in Winnipeg
We are settling in and still trying to find where the movers left things. But everything appears to have a place, although some of those places make me shake my head. The bathrooms are both a good size. Mine even has a decent linen closet in it. We've also each referred to the suite as "home", so I guess we've made the move emotionally as well.
Unfortunately, we were without any communication other than my cell phone for 4 days--no tv or internet--nothing. The fellow from Shaw came just around noon on Friday and didn't leave until almost 3:30, but he did get things set up. Then yesterday, the guy from "The Geek Squad" called to say that he had a couple of cancelations and would it be okay for him to come yesterday instead of Monday. He was coming to get our printer up and running as part of the WI-FI system. So that job is done.
I still can't see the top of my kitchen table, although there are a few holes peeking through. It had been at least 6 inches deep with paperwork, mainly associated with the move from the house into the suite. Late yesterday I sent an e-mail accepting a quote from a house cleaning service for the house. The acceptance was conditional with the job being done before next Friday. The only job left is to arrange to have Victoria Life Line up and running here. All last week we could get nothing but busy signals on the number we were suppose to call, but I got though on another number and left a message Friday evening.
So here I sit on Sunday morning. I am still exhausted, and will likely have a nap when I finish this. Given the current heat wave, we both are just too tired, but have had to deal with moving issues, regardless. I think of you both often, in a loving way.
