I am not old!
Too bad my body disagrees😜. Sunday I golfed (I use the term “golf” loosely). Thinking ahead I did nothing to strain my body Sunday morning and headed out feeling pretty good. Except I had to wear shoes. I have not worn shoes in a couple of months. Got there and got our cart. Then found Wayne and asked him to show us how to drive the cart. He said sure and then drove away quickly!! Barb and I jerked our way to load our clubs and figure out where to go. We stuttered to a stop near other carts (didn’t hit one!) and found Wayne. We did not let him out of our sight cause we started on Hole 3 and had no idea how to get there! Time to head out arrived for us and our cart was surrounded by other carts. It looked like it was going to be a lot of back and forth with fingers crossed to get out. Wayne and Diane drove up, Wayne just shook his head at us , hopped out and just climbed in one of the other darts and moved it out of the way. Gee! That have never occurred to us. These weren’t cars. They were electric golf carts that anyone could move🤣. It was “Best Ball” so we had to use everyone’s drive once, but we only used the best shot each time, not all of them. It reached the point that my team said that no matter what, they would use my next drive. At least I got it off the tee box 😊. I actually got the ball in the air and couple of times, and hit it straight a couple of times! They even used one of my fairway shots and one of my putts! It was supposed to take 2 hours, but it took most teams 3 hours because of the backlog. Some holes had three teams on them so it took extra time. And at one hole we had 6 carts backed up while the team in front of us looked for lost balls. Wayne said each person is allowed 5 minutes to search but this was a fun tournament, not a competition😤. I hit one into the rough and did a cursory look, but didn’t try to hard before I moved on. One hole Wayne made it over the water to the green so the rest of us didn’t have to hit, but we let him hit for fun. He hit 2 more over the river but guess who’s ball he sank in water. I told him I could have done that myself! We ended up with a 41 (5 over par). We headed for the legion (with amazing foresight I had sandals in my car). I didn’t win any of the draw prizes I bought tickets on, and our golfing prize was 3 golf balls, which I gave to Rodney. They guys at the table told me that the balls were worth $15! Who knew golf balls were that expensive. The steak dinner was really good (steak, baked potato, beans and coleslaw). Again, with foresight I had a couple of lunch bags in my purse for leftovers. All in all a good day. I felt pretty good Monday morning and weeded the garden, picked and froze green beans, tilled the garden, raked up the picked weeds and even did some housework! By late afternoon I was starting to ache! This morning I know that I had been working! I guess I will slow down a bit today and go to the legion and sit and just rip up tickets for Friday’s Meat Draw😊. One thing I did do this morning is pick some beans, new potatoes and a cucumber for supper😁. Should be delicious. Love you ♥️♥️♥️
