Weather

 Will this rain never end😤. I know that by July we will be begging for it but why can’t it spread out instead of day after day. Yesterday, by about 11am the lawn had dried (from the overnight drizzle and fog) so I was able to mow. And mow I did!  The entire yard. I was so proud of myself for first, doing it, and second I mowed the steep hill. First time ever.  After I put the mower away I realized I had not mowed the ditch. I said there is no way my body is ever moving again. And as I was sitting on my swing the neighbour drove up on his mower and did the ditch. He thought I was in town and had intended to surprise me by mowing my yard.  He was the one surprised that it was done. And I got to brag that I did the hill!  Today my body is protesting so I am just puttering in the house. This afternoon I am going to the library and then buy my lottery tickets. One of these days I’ll win something. Al (the neighbour) offered to come over and change the blades on my mower. I had bought the blades but was going to ask Rodney to help. And if he couldn’t the man that sold us the mower offered to come and do it for me (he was a friend of Jim). I am blessed with such good neighbours and friends. The neighbours say I have to stay here at least 10 more years cause they don’t want to break in new neighbours😜. And my garden has started to grow. Last evening I saw something starting  in every row. As usual it is bigger than I intended but I’m sure someone will use whatever I can’t. Have a great week ladies. Love you♥️

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
