More rain again
I went to town this afternoon and while I was there I had 1 3/4 inches of rain. And it has rained since I got home! Good thing I did a bit of yard work this morning! We’re back under a severe thunderstorm watch, but the warning is ended. Jim’s sister, Glenda, had a massive aneurysm this week. It is inoperable and the hospital says all they can do is make her comfortable😪. I told Jean (the other sister) and she was not interested. What an F***ing bitch! When Jim died I begged her to talk to Glenda and she refused. She hasn’t spoken to her since Jim’s 75th birthday (which Jean blew off). Jim told me to just get over her blowing off his birthday cause it was just the way Jean is, but it still festers in my brain. So on to better talk. My lawn really needs mowing but the rain won’t stop! Tomorrow afternoon it may be dry enough to attack. More rain is in the forecast this week. I agree with Pati. I love watching the squirrels but they are sooo destructive. I keep a broom at the west door to drive away the squirrels that use the bird feeder as a buffet. The poor birds sit on the railing and stare at the squirrel. As soon as I drive the squirrel away the birds are back eating. I am not going “power cooking” like Pati and Dave. I do have a lot of leftovers in the freezer since I haven’t mastered “cooking for one”. I spent yesterday morning helping the Legion Ladies prep for a supper last night. We did 5 big pots of potatoes and 3 of carrots. Darren was one of the last ones up and they had no potatoes, had cooked some canned corn cause they ran out of carrots. A bit of salad was left, but no sliced cucumbers. The buns ran out early, but we predicted that since we knew there weren’t enough when we buttered them. But there was some beef left. That could be because they had 187 pounds!!! Al (the neighbour) has hauled most of the pile of garbage in the garage to the dump. I’m sure I will have more, but it looks so much cleaner for now. I lost my voice this week but it is coming back today. Not totally normal but much better. I was reading the news on NACTV on Thursday and I started croaking. I hope people could understand me by the time I finished😜. Kris sent me a picture of Chloe. She was pitching a baseball game in Winnipeg. She obviously takes after her father and not her grandmother. Physical activity was never at the top of my accomplishments. So tonight I look forward to a bath and a book. What more could one ask for, except maybe a glass of wine with the bath. Love you♥️♥️♥️
