Miss our chatter...it has been quiet.....
Hello to you both,
Yes, it has been quiet for awhile and for that I am sorry on my part for not sending a few words your way.๐This garden, and the many tomatoes not yet planted, and this crazy weather has really put a damper on productivity. But soon it will be the end of planting and then switch to maintenance. I try to do a bit of maintenance as I walk about but it is in need of some dedicated time. The gas lawnmower which I took to be fixed is still giving me trouble as I cannot seem to start it. If it does fire up I quickly do what i can before it decides to die. Perhaps I need a new gas mower but that is not in my plans at the moment. I took the little hand powered push mower to Mike who says he will fix it if he can (the blades were sticking) ....it needs to be sharpened and oiled.......that was always my "go to" when the other gas mower did not work. So in the meantime it is work outside when one can, and then sit and look at the housework that needs to be done inside, when one is stuck inside. It feels that way anyway. ๐คช
The neighbour next door arrived from Holland on June 6 and so far is keeping to himself - his wife will arrive the first part of July to join him for the rest of the summer. He works in his yard and tidies up all the time and I am sure still looks at our place with wonder at the mess all over. I think it was last year he mentioned that I should clean it up a bit at the back. Well, he is right about that...I think I could as well ...haha! But really, he is a nice person and often enjoyable to have a conversation with him.
Pati, I was telling Cathy about Zentangle which I did years ago ( I looked it up and it was 2016). I was sorting some things and found my binder and realized how much i had enjoyed the moments of quiet reflection while doing my creations. Much more than the Adult Colouring Books that I had also tried doing. Do you ever reflect on your Zentangle work....have you ever picked it up again? Cathy, you say that it is very much like your constant "doodling", which it is basically. I want to try to pick it up again and look forward to some time when I can. So for now that is a "keeper" but I really would like to get rid of the many Colouring Books that I still have. And the poor old Potato Chip blocks I was sewing are left in the sewing room for the time being. ๐
So time to get moving again on this Monday morning. Apparently we are to have a "heat wave" this week scattered amongst many risks of "strong thunderstorms." Should make for some tense moments if in fact, it does materialize. But one day at a time... hope you are both hanging in there.....Take care as always.... Love XX ๐๐
I very much remember my Zentangling. I have been saving "how-to" pictures I see on Pintrest and have a box with all my supplies careful put away to take with me when I move. I feel that this might be something I could have to work on if and when the hand sewing becomes a problem
