Burrrrr..cold

Hello Friday...and a cold one at that. Last two nights there was a  "frost warning " so, of course, had to respond according and protect all the plants. So most were put back into the two greenhouses and the white shed under cover and the others left outside were covered with blankets. Today should be able to bring them all out again and hang the baskets up and generally start all over again. The new format for The Weather Network is still difficult to navigate but sort of getting used to it now. A bit cautious still about an early June freeze warning so will watch that closely. Otherwise all the plants are growing well and should have some nice tomatoes this year. And the 15 zucchini plants should yield a few zucchini to process. Watch out for the "the bus" coming your way and delivering some nice zucchinis 🤪

Eating some porridge as I write this early - it felt like a porridge morning for me as I sip a hot cup of coffee and shiver here at the computer. Yesterday I had a bit of a scare losing one of my cats. I could not find him in the morning and he did not come for breakfast. The search was on....tried to remember if he could have escaped outside during the evening somehow when I was back and forth covering the plants. But could not face that prospect. Looked everywhere up and down stairs checking cupboards and under furniture etc including the oven, fridge, washer and dryer in desperation. No cat. Outside into the neighbours yard to look and, up and down the street calling his name and shaking a treat box. By noon took some hand made flyers to post at the Post Office and the Lottery Store boards. At about 1:30 I was going down the hall and was suddenly urged to open the Linen cupboard and who jumped out....😹😻. Hugs and kisses abound...and then shame for having enclosed the poor thing for about 24 hours I would guess, and for not looking in that cupboard earlier.  Then I remembered having opened this cupboard to take out fresh linen just before supper to make the bed. My guess is that somehow he eluded me and jumped in without notice. What a terrible time I had all day with worry.

Much to do today - taking some promised tomatoes over to the Vet this afternoon - we have given them some every year for the past years. Have already taken Harry's sister, Donna, some tomatoes and kale and basil down to her in Huntsville.  I really want to pick some rhubarb and make some jam - bought all the ingredients this past week but have not got at it yet.

Is it Jeremy's and Denise's Wedding tomorrow Pati and are you going? Best wishes to them both on this special day.

Take care folks...Love XX 💕
