Beading

 The two pieces I'm making for a somewhat informal exhibition in Kellwood later this summer are on the last stretch.  That means that I'm spending every minute I can beading.  The problem is made worse by the knowledge that there is a heck of a  lot of purging to be done asap. Meals are catch-can, but yesterday we really had to hit the grocery store.  Now, I'm having to get my head around using food in the pantry and freezer before shopping for more. Then last night my head was whirling around planning the actual move.  Today I have to find something (non-alcoholic) to calm my mind and help me relax.  My favourite way to do that is to do some beading.  OMG!  I'm stressing in circles--which just happens to be the title of the piece I'm working on.😀

Today our morning started with a visit from "The Drain Doctor".  Yes our upstairs bathroom sink has clogged up again after being well reamed out about two months ago.  The fellow has just told us that he's going to have to call in another guy to help him climb up on the roof and drop his reaming equipment down the main stack!!  Ka'ching!

And then we have the realtor coming tomorrow to assess the house and give us a list of things to be done before listing it.  Next is a trip to Starbucks with the kids to devise a plan for preparing for and actually making the move.  I know I'm "jumping the gun" a bit, but I'll be worrying about things until I know we have plan of action.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
