Purging, Sewing, and trying to keep up with housework
That says it all!
David has been a real help this week, as there are times that I appear to checkout, sit at the table and drink coffee and read. This week I finally got disgusted at myself and made a real cup of tea--Creamed Earl Grey--and I was off and running. I know that will work but the effect levels out, so it can't be done too often besides which I pay for the treat in the bathroom.
Wednesday, in Lorette, I spoke of our need to find small boxes in which to pack books. Next thing I knew I was being dragged past the liquor store next door and around the corner where there was a pile of boxes full of smaller boxer all neatly set out for pick up the next day. Both my friend and I picked up a full box (quite doable) and carried them to my car about 1/3 block down the wet slippery street. The liquor store lady said we were welcome to take as many as we wanted any Wednesday--the only day I'm likely to be in Lorette. I think I just solved a problem regarding purging. Also last week, David got in touch with The Friends of the Winnipeg Public Library and was told that any time we could take 2-3 small boxes to our local library, well labelled, and the truck that visits the library every day would accept and deliver them to the organization. That's a real plus for me, as otherwise I would have to make arrangements and then drive out to St. James to deliver them.
In the studio, I had 4 quilts ready to be quilted and bound. One was finished yesterday, and labelled as a charity quilt, one is quilted and just waiting to be bound, one is sandwiched ready for quilting and one is waiting to be sandwiched. My hope was to finish them all before my divas group comes here for their meeting on the 21st. But now I don't think there's any hope that will happen and I'm not willing to exhaust myself trying.
Right now I'm reading "The Maid" by Nita Prose. It was recommended by the head librarian, and the style is somewhat similar to books by Phaedra Patrick. But I'm starting to realize that it is so much more. Only half way through and I'm really enjoying it.
So, here I sit on Sunday morning. My plan for the day is to get dressed and head out grocery shopping, then to make supper, clean the kitchen, have a shower and finally relax for an hour or two before bed.
Stay safe ladies. There is a really nasty version of bronchitis going around here. David had it in early January and his sister has been quite ill over the past week. You don't want to catch this! Look after yourselves please. People love you.
