How did Friday happen? Where was I?

Yeah, that's what life feels like around here.  But I'm at Tuesday now.  My BuJo says so.  Yesterday, I had my hair cut.  Since  sometime around the New Year I've been trying to learn to deal with the new style my hairdresser gave me.  She recommended washing it slightly less often, and using mousse, which means going back to using my 30+  year old hairdryer.  Yesterday she even got a little frustrated with the lumps on my skull that give me several different "cow licks".  that gave everyone in the area had a good laugh.

WhatsApp is all set up using correct phone numbers for all of us.  Does anyone know what we do next?

When David saw the Gerontologist in December, she diagnosed a very low blood count and he now takes iron pills, and things are improving.  But I've also been trying to improve his diet, feeding him more beef and even fresh fruit and vegetables.  This appears to be working well, so much so that we're both gaining weight. So now I'm going to be adding weight loss as a consideration in meal planning.  This means that a good portion of the day is spent in meal planning and preparation.

Adding to the day-by-day living is the more and more urgent job of purging.  But purging can sometimes have its moments.  Yesterday we had planned "Pip & Squeak".  David spent time chopping carrots and turnip on Sunday and then I put the chopped veggies and water into an old Dutch Oven.  It was boiling nicely, but David thought it needed a little more cooking before we could mash it up with the immersion Blender.  We both got immersed in the news when I smelled something.  Sure enough the pot had boiled dry--badly burnt pot.  Neither of us was looking forward to cleaning it, when I had a thought.  That pot had been part of the first low cost set of pots and pans that I bought when we moved into our first apartment in Bellville.  It doesn't owe us anything, we won't be taking it with us when we move, and I have another one in better shape--so just throw it out. What a concept!!  A small purge but significant one, and a better way of looking at purging.

After my trip out to Lorette tomorrow we have no commitments, so maybe lots of purge time?  I find myself working slowly, with lots of breaks and a longer recovery time after working for awhile.  Just old age I suppose, but I miss the energy I had not so long ago.  At the same time I look at what's done and what needs to be done and realize that I've accomplished quite a lot.

So now I've been up for an hour and a half.  I've had breakfast, got dressed, read the newspaper and blogged.  It must be time for a nap. Please stay safe.  It's not a very nice world right now.
