Snow here too
We had about 1 1/2-2 inches over night, and now it's starting again, as predicted. I don't want to be driving in this. There is a meeting of my Fibre Art Divas this afternoon that I had said I would attend. I won't be going, although socialization outside the house is a primary goal right now.
We have been very busy re-filling the freezer that I had worked so hard to empty last month. But there have been several good buys in meat lately that couldn't be ignored. Power cooking just takes a lot of energy--more than either of us has right now. David is just coming back from a nasty chest cold, and I'm keeping busy carrying on. But the work is getting done one way or another.
Funny you should have mentioned zig-saw puzzles Beth. I've been buying smaller ones at Giant Tiger for $7.00,with 300-350 pieces, sometimes two puzzles in one box. There are times that I just need that sort of focused but somewhat mindless distraction. I make them on my worktable downstairs and then swear at myself when I want to do something with fabric.
Unfortunately, I had a nasty burn from steam on my left hand recently. Blisters on 3 fingers, bandaged. This has made power cooking and housework a bit of a challenge-to say nothing about keyboarding. No hand sewing either. But it's amazing what a difference a conscious decision to face the hardship with humour makes. A big change came when I ran the dishwasher twice in succession yesterday. Over the past few years use of the machine has been strictly every second day--regardless. But now-👍😅
Let it snow! Let it snow! Stay warm. Stay home! Stay safe! Luv you!
I use the white heavy boards from Dollarama (20"x30")to do the puzzles on and then i can cover with the second board to move safely or cover so you can do something on top, Cathy also has a puzzle matt that you can place the puzzle on and then roll up safely to remove or store without disrupting the pieces. Something to think about ... XX
