My diet exploded (the long version of the story)

Friday, Gail, her friend Laurie, and I had planned a play day making Friendship Flags, previously known as Personal Prayer Flags.  Gail, the militant atheist, rejected the original name, but thought that they might be marketable under the new name, as something teenagers buy to give to friends.

Within the past couple of weeks, Gail has come into an inheritance, one she has been waiting for in order to fix her basement that has been compromised by her neighbour's tree roots.  She decided that she wanted to celebrate in some way, perhaps stopping at Baked Expectations on the way over, and bringing us goodies to have during our Play Day.  Then Laurie couldn't come.  I suggested that maybe it would be a more of a celebration if Gail and I could meet at the restaurant beforehand.  Finally, Gail picked me up an hour earlier than originally planned and off we went, having promised David that we would bring him home his favourite cheesecake. Not being shy I added another treat for me, knowing we would be eating them on Saturday.

The restaurant itself has not physically changed at all. (and I remember when it was a drugstore--so many years ago👵)  They no longer serve food other than desserts and beverages.  They used to serve the best French fries!!  What we did eat was a disappointment.  We both thought our selections had been in the display case a little too long.  Gail couldn't eat part of hers as it was so stale.  Mine had  layers of caramel that was tough (?)  But I do have to say that the service was impeccable.

Then, with a quick stop in the area, we were off home for over two hours creativity which produced six Friendship Flags.

But the day wasn't over.  When we had paid the bill for our Christmas supper, I got a card giving me one buffet at half price when buying one a regular price, but with an expiry date.  David and I had planned to enjoy it Friday evening and so we followed Gail out the driveway.  Dinner was followed by an evening out.

Seems funny to have so very much social activity after weeks of staying in the house.  The cold is some of the problem but we both seem to be generally slowing down.  There is still purging going on but just keeping up with the chores seems to take much more energy that before.  Both of us are sleeping more although that could be part of winter too--just hunkering down and waiting for spring.  I don't think I'm depressed just weary.

Be safe ladies.  Right now the danger is yet more serious chest problems, as well as the chance of loosing body parts to the cold.  Stay  warm and don't breath close to strangers.  Love you both.
