I appear to be missing around here
But I'm still hanging around and hiding in corners. The past week has been a mixed blessing. We enjoyed our anniversary. There was a very nice meal at the local Mongolian B-B-Q, followed by our usual visit to the casino. New Year's Eve was quite quiet and we both were in bed before mid-night. David's birthday we switched things around going to the casino in the afternoon and playing before dinner--soup and half a sandwich each. Boy--when the Findlays celebrate they go all out.
Our life appears to be settling into a routine of living quietly at home with one or two trips to the grocery store a week. Then we add the occasional trip to the doctor.
Yes, I did do some baking. I even managed to find and buy a 4 kilo bag of sugar for my baking. Then David decided that the home made muffins weren't for him, I didn't even get to open the sugar! As mentioned in Beth's post, the Christmas goodies all showed up on the scale.
Yesterday was spent cleaning the studio, and setting up for a "Play Day" with Gail and her friend Laurie this afternoon. However, David woke up with a deep and vicious cough. Evidentially it had bothered him all night, even resulting in him accidentally setting off his Lifeline. He didn't hear it go off, nor did he hear the response or phone call. So Loren was called. Finally David heard them talking to him and got up and spoke to them. So it will be listed as an accidental alarm.
But David is still in rough shape today and the "Play Day" has been cancelled. But I've decided to split the laundry and do most of it tomorrow, as I had planned. We've had to do that a couple of times recently and it works better for me.
Our bathroom sink has periodically plugging up on us ever since we moved in 23 years ago. We've had it fixed several times but the problem eventually recurs. This time the plumbing company suggested that we call a company that deals with drain beyond the under-sink "trap". I had visions of maybe having to dig up the pipes out side the house, and maybe having to activate our LOC to pay for it. Two men and a lot of equipment came yesterday. They worked under the sink and cleared the line right to the main line with a snake and really hot water, and were gone is less than 1/2 hour. I could have paid with cash out of my purse except I like a paper trail for such thing so used a credit card.
So that's my life for the last week. Stay safe ladies. I love you both.
