A Friday note ....

 Hello to you both... hope you are doing OK on this Friday....always nice to hit a Friday for some reason....maybe a holdover from working days 😉

Shall I talk about the weather....anyone interested in weather these days?  I am pleased to have mild days for some time to come...even nicer NOT to have the freezing rain that was forecast for last night. Still and all, it is rough walking with soft snow and the ploughs doing several runs each day - which has to be shoveled from the end of the driveway.

The little greenhouse was heated up this week and although no work has been done yet - it is ready for planting seeds with the soil and pots and water containers and seed packages and little wooden sticks to go in each pot marked with the name of the seeds....just waiting for "someone" to start to work in earnest.  The heater is keeping the inside at around 62-70 F in the day because the day temps outside are around 0. The nights are mild right now as well, so night temps inside the greenhouse are good but in a week or two that may change with lower outside night temps and the need for "someone"  to keep an eye and maybe be ready to jump in and cover with quilts. 🤔

This gal has a smart phone now. Yes, I caved and I am struggling. I try something new each day to try to catch on. The first problem was having to sign in with a code every time I took it in hand and for some reason putting my code in and then pressing the EMERGENY icon instead of the green icon I was supposed to press. But, I learned my lesson very quickly and no longer have this problem  (I hope) . Time will tell just how comfortable I am able to become. 😍

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
