My Friday date with the Eye Surgeon

 It is done and I am now doing the 4 times a day eye drops in both eyes for a week. And booked for a return visit for reassessment in a month.

It is so interesting now to be the elderly patient in my life rather than the young, excited, vibrant health care worker that I once was. How did this all change so quickly, one has to ask oneself? But nevertheless here I am. Often times feeling very patronized as I flow through this  and that to reach the end. The professionals are now very young and very lively and very busy running about the office seeing one patient after another - assembly line fashion. I even feel alienated from visiting the local Pharmacy anymore as the staffing has changed and the old guard is gone. So...it is me just feeling this way, or has our time come 😔

The rainy weather has come and with it all the leaves are falling and the temp is falling as well. We really did enjoy a wonderful period of gorgeous, sunny and warm days, didn't we?  Now I look about the yard and although seeing so much more work that is needed, feel a sense of relief as well. Let Winter come if it must. And I look around now at how I can decorate for Hallowe'en again this year. I like to mix it up every year although using the same old box of decorations that I have used for years. We have all our bags of candy done up and ready to give away. The event falls on a Tuesday this year so maybe not as busy as other years but you can never tell - depends also on the weather conditions for that evening.

Still coping with this having to get a new computer change over issue...I have learned a lot just on my own by trial and error. I tried again yesterday to set Harry up on the laptop as he has consented to try that again but still not the new system. I had a little printer that went with the laptop when I bought it, but of course, that is now not functioning as I had hoped. I will get it figured out with a bit more thinking again today, but at this point think I will buy another printer to go along with the laptop for Harry to use. Having only ONE outlet to connect to the internet is a problem but I am good now to work around that if needed. I bought a long 50 foot ethernet cord so mobility will not be an issue either 😁.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
