Visiting

 Kris stopped in this afternoon. He rode his motorcycle since it was such a beautiful day. Needless to say, we took my car when we went to town. Kris drove around checking out the changes in town, we stopped at the hospital and then Kris, Kik and I went out for supper. It was a nice visit. I really have nothing else to say, but I wanted to share my day with my sisters🥰

Feast or Famine

We either have more medical-related appts   than I can deal with or no activity at all, which means catching up with housework and purging.  Today we're "power cooking" , but next Mon., Tues., and Wed. we have 4 appointments, three of which are on the other side of town.  As well as the "power cooking", today is also laundry day.  The "power cooking" is a result of us having almost emptied the freezer,  and still no possession date. David spends a fair bit of time in the garden. With all the rain, we've only had a couple of days to sit out there and read.  Rather, we're spending time, in the house, watching the antics of young squirrels. They play in our tree, or tussle at the foot of the the tree.  We can hear the barks, chirps, and growls from in the house.  There were originally 5 of them but one fell out of a tree onto the road, and died.  We also have small grey squirrels, but there just appears to be 2 of them. Ah, yes. I remember

  What I remember was that look that I had practiced in front of my mirror endlessly.  I thought it was so adult and even sexy.  Uncle Barney told me more than once that I looked like someone you might see on a Paris street corner.  Looking at the picture now, I think he was maybe right.  Mind you, I didn't want to believe him at the time.  After all, what would he know about Paris street corners.  It wasn't a good time for me.  The family doctor had put me on amphetamines to control my weight, and my whole way of life changed, not necessarily for the better.  Then I went to University, and on my first clinical placement--out at Selkirk--who should I run into but the family doctor, who was being treated, as an in patient. He also dated our cousin Bernice, who had been widowed at 24, with 4 young children.  She tried to support her young family by working as a hostess at the Pembina Hotel. OMG! It's been almost a week since I posted!

  The priority over the weekend was concern about David's driver's license.  He got the letter on Friday telling him that his license was being revoked, and he was to surrender the actual license by today at the latest.  The letter also included some good information on options including a special assessment process called "DriveABLE.  David had to wait until yesterday to call them, but wasn't able to get an appointment for the re-assessment until May 3rd.  So, while we were out yesterday, he went in and "did the deed".  Sort of a sad time around here, but at least there is hope. This all meant a quiet week end, spent mainly at home, but this also meant a bit more studio time than usual.  A significant number of the pieces for the new EPP piece have been cut and put in Zip-loc bags for future basting and sewing together.  This will be my work for the group in Lorette for the foreseeable future.  Today was also the day for my monthly Zoom meet...
