I did it!

 Today I took myself to a new Hair Salon and with an appt for 1 pm, entered with some anxiety but soon relaxed and felt right at home in this new environment. And I came home excited and thrilled to have a nice, soft, curly permanent hair style. Just what i wanted and just as i had envisioned it to be. Very very satisfied and content with this stylist and will definitely be going back there. It took me a long time to make the transition from the previous stylist who retired last December, to find this place in South River. Every day when we pass by it to take the dogs for their walk, I had never thought of pursuing it further as a potential place to have my hair done.

Long weekend and the weather is supposed to be ok. I just came back from taking the dogs for their night walk down to the Lake where the Market is set up with music and food and vendors set up. The place was packed with people wandering around or eating, or down at the beach and in the water. Also this weekend the Villlage will be having a Fireworks display. So as i stay here at home ( not interested in this kind of event) I shall still hear the noise as it continues for about 30 minutes in the evening. And next weekend is the annual Sundridge Sunflower Festival where the Main Street is closed to traffic and over 100 vendors set up to entice the many people who attend to wander and.or to buy their wares.

Tomorrow is supposed to be nice again, so it will be outside work for sure. Trying to clean up while also caring for the plants and garden at the same time. But if it is nice, it is a very nice place to hang out haha!

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
