Pancake House

 The entire family went there for brunch after my first communion. I borrowed a white dress that Geraldine had worn for her first communion. There were other families there from the same communion. I was very excited!

  I fell asleep early last night (before 9pm!!) so I was awake by 3am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Jim got up at 4am and went downstairs, but fell asleep in his chair. I watched the clock until a spray plane buzzed the house at 5:24am. I gave up then. I bet I will be tired tonight. I am going to try to take it easy today, but I always seem to find something that needs doing. The only things on my list are to get the mail and go to the library. A book I requested has been “in transit” for over a week. I’m hoping it will arrive today since it is the first book in the series and I have the second one here waiting to read. (I requested them the same day but one arrived quickly). I ran out of Earl Grey tea this morning. We are finding grocery prices high too, and I think my tea might be one of the items dropped☹️. It is really overpriced. I can get it cheaper at Walmart in Brandon but I have to be going to Brandon for something (doctor etc). I won’t drive there to shop. And speaking of shopping, the local flyers come out today so I will be making my shopping list up. The last of my chicken breasts are in the fridge ready to cook, but Co-op often has the boneless skinless breasts and/or thighs on sale. Weather is crazy these days. This morning it was only 8c out. A couple of days ago it was 38c. Don’t you just love Canada 😜.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
