Another day

 Every day I try to take Lucky for a walk. It is not his fault he is stuck with two people unable to give him the attention he craves. I know he misses our 2 mile ramblings every day, but I try to give him something. He is also out of bones!  What to do?!  I guess a trip to Gladstone is in our near future. Right now I am sitting outside on the west deck. It is the middle of July and we still haven’t had a fire, but at least I can sit outside for a while in the evening. We are still planning on getting a new freezer, but I can’t face rearranging everything right now!  Maybe soon😊. I have been putting off shopping but I will have to do something tomorrow. I might be able to wait one more day until the new sale flyers come into effect. Jim can’t help me ( he can’t stay on his feet long enough to shop), so I tend to do the minimum. But there comes a point when the minimum is a lot!  I am trying to dig new potatoes as often as I can. They are not good for storage so we eat them as we can. I think I have a couple of steaks left in the freezer ( they may be a bit tough) but they will be good with the potatoes. Sam came over to help me with some things on Sunday. He must have misunderstood me when i told him there was nothing in the garden from the peas to the asparagus. I thought he would drive down the middle of the empty space, but he drove right over the asparagus, chives and strawberries. He also drove out over the rhubarb, but it needed thinning so maybe that was okay. At least we filled in some of the massive pits lucky dug in the yard (which he immediately started to dig again😤). So I live from day to day, waiting for a surgery date. The surgeon got me all nervous when he told me I needed the surgery as soon as possible, but I guess ASAP means different things to different people😜. Life goes on!  Love you♥️

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
