Adventures

Tuesday, David asked me to drive him to the 4R Depot at Panet and Mission, after he'd cleaned out the garage. It's just a couple of blocks beyond the Starbucks store that I like.  Got there and they wouldn't take anything except a few paint spray cans.  We were instructed to take everything to Brady Road, off the South Perimeter, just west of Waverley.  The South Perimeter has a reputation of being a hellhole with fast speed limits frequently interspersed with slow ones ( just to keep one awake), as well a multiple construction areas and heavy traffic containing lots of heavy truck and semis.  Perfect afternoon driving for someone like me.

We missed the turn-off, and had to drive the best part of a  mile further before I could pull a U-turn.  Found the right road which was decorated by red ribbons tied on everything, a Tipi, and signs reminding us of the missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls. The road took us back almost to the point where I did the U-turn, then it turned South for awhile with lots of confusing signage, finally a turn in, where I discovered that I was in the commercial section, on a scale where big trucks were weighed.  The lady pointed out where I should have been and directed me to a road taking me there,   Got into a household slot where David could unload everything, during which he hurt his leg leaving a bloody scrape the lengthy of his shin.  Finally, $20 lighter, off toward home, just in time to deal with the "rush hour" North bound on Lagimodiere.  That is the stuff of nightmares.

Yesterday, it was out to Lorette again.  Some of the ladies have been participating in cooking classes at the School and were really thrilled with the experience. Then some of them started to compare their tattoos, sharing their experience with pain. Getting home, David needed to go to Lowes (big hardware store).  At the same time he suggested that I pick out 2-3 hanging baskets for the back yard.  Got those as well as two containers of bedding plants.  By the time we left there it was time for supper.  Off to the McDonald's on the same parking lot only to discover that it was closed for renovations.  We ended up finding a McDonald's just South of McCleod and Henderson.    Then it was memories of my cycling days finding less busy roads to get home.

This afternoon we are off to the library and to get David a haircut.  He's promised me that I can get a cup of coffee on the way so I can sit in the car, with a warm drink and a good book, while I wait.

Friday is laundry, and then my week is shot.  Did you notice any mention of the studio in the above?  I don't think so.   Maybe tomorrow.
