Prepared for snow
And it came, and is still falling. People are out and about though, and traffic appears to be moving well. The sidewalk plough has already been by. This is the one that caused so many problems over the winter, leaving windrows for us to drive over when getting out of the driveway. We were out yesterday to the thrift store, to drop off a car load, and the library. No stop for food though. I hope David has enough milk.
We are doing a fairly deep purge. I worry that we're sending things to the thrift store that might have sold in a garage sale. The garage sale pile is not very big. Now we have to worry about setting up things for the mould remediation next week. This is going to be huge job, mainly for David. The final stage of the job is a fogging of the whole house to kill spoors. All bedroom cupboard shelves have to be empty, and any clothing well spaced. Furniture must be 6" from outside walls. And beds have to be stripped, even if the sheets are left in a pile close by. And all of this must be done by 8:30 a.m., Thursday April 13.
Then we have to leave, and not come back for 4 hours after they've left. We plan a leisurely breakfast, and then will go out to Gail's house for a "play day" using Gelli (gelatin) pads. Then a supper-somewhere- and maybe an evening at the casino. Of course, then its home and the task of making the beds before we sleep.
A lot of this will have to be done before Thursday, but much of it will be "last minute". I've already sent regrets to the group in Lorette that day. So for now, its back to the purging.
I got the book "Murder at Haven's Rock" from the library Monday, and finished it yesterday. Yes, it is #8 in the Rockton series, but since Rockton is now gone, I guess it represents a whole new beginning to the series, even if a few of the former inhabitants are still around. The ending of the book, indicates further books in the series, but doesn't point directly toward them. Leaves us guessing, I suppose. I won't be buying anymore books, even if they are a part of a series. I'm hoping to take one bookcase with me, when we move, and there won't be very much space on that.
David is now headed out to the garage, so the day begins. Best get at it. Please stay safe ladies, even if that just means staying out of the snow.
