Out and about

I have a distinct impression that I have typed this before, perhaps in the studio blog.  None-the-less, I will proceed.

Wednesday, the group in Lorette was invited to see the show at the local high school .   It was at 10:30 am, so I have to assume it was a dress rehearsal.  It brought back so many memories of when I was in high school and all of the shows were Gilbert and Sullivan, and all of the costumes were rented.  But this time the costumes were either home made from articles of clothing and an added face mask, or carboard spoon, knife or fork attached to the chest, or created in the school Fashion room ( sewing when we were young).  The sets were probably made in-house as well and were excellent.

After the show the weather got much worse, and I came home, only to have the weather get nice again.  I probably was on the highway during the worse of it.

Thursday, I got up and as part of my routine, checked my calendar.  Right there in black and white was a brunch with David's sister, Gail.  I had already had breakfast, but we both got dressed in a hurry, and out the door.  A very leisurely breakfast, in an almost empty restaurant (at that time of day), where we were allowed to just sit and talk.  We were even offered more coffee.  After, we went to the nail place in the mall across the way.  I haven't been there in ages, and David never.  But we both had pedicures, mainly to get our toe nails cut, but still a pleasurable experience.  David declared that it was the best place out of the three we've tried, so I see more of it in our future.

After my late afternoon phone call with Gail, we were off to the casino for supper, and for the evening.  Yesterday, was, of course, laundry day, and I spent time making Gelli prints.  My plan was to start making collages out of the prints I had previously made, but the urge to make prints took over.  It really is addictive.  Later, I called Bell about a problem I encountered trying to register for the $250 Visa card we were promised after changing over from Shaw.  That took almost an hour, and still hasn't been resolved.

Today, while I would just like to crawl back into bed, one more load is in the washer.  It was a conscious decision not to do it yesterday.  Then we have to to out for a bottle of milk, at some point.  I do hope to get at those collages.  I have plans for them. Stay safe ladies, and later, perhaps raise a glass to families.
