Dogs and squirrels

 I guess you know where this is going…..  I put on my knee brace and took Lucky out. We even went into the field next door. Then the freezing rain started so we headed home. We were actually home when he spotted a squirrel under the car and took off. Before I could let go of the leash I was down on the ground and he was in the garage trying to get the squirrel. Ripped the knee out of my pants (and out of my knee!). I even bruised my thumb!  At least I fell onto my right side, which only means I have two sore legs now. I figure I will feel pretty sore tomorrow. And Jim never told me I had dirt all down the side of my face. He figured that I would have guessed it (🙄). Since we won nothing at meatdraw last night we went out and bought some hamburger today. I wanted a couple of other things but nothing was on sale. I guess I will wait until the next sale starts. Jim did grab some sausages so that I can make perogies and sausage tomorrow.  With the salad that I took out a bank loan to buy (😤). Other than that I sit around and do very little. I will be so glad when they figure out what is wrong and I get better. Meanwhile I am planning the best way to plant my garden while crawling on the ground😜.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
