Weather's cold but sunny.

I hope it stays sunny as our snow shoveling contract ends April 1st.

Most of the weekend was spent in the studio trying to develop a plan for getting rid of most of the supplies, and maybe, just maybe, getting a bit of $$$ for them.  I've also been trying to create a realistic plan for downsizing in the rest of the house and garage.  David spoke to his sister today and she fully supported his idea of selling his Grandfathers stone mason tools.  A fellow is coming over next week to take a look at them.  At the same time, his sister, one of my Lorette friends, has said she has a way of getting some of my fabric scraps into some sort of program in a day care.

Some of these activities are emotionally painful.  Today I started to polish the two silver plated serving spoon I use every day.  I realized that one spoon is loosing most of its silver right down to the base metal.  Not being sure if it is safe for use, I threw it out.  I bought those two spoons at the Blue Heron in Kenora, long before we moved here, when we visited the lake.  This was when the Blue Heron was an actual antique store, not a tourist trap.  A bit of an emotional time, but it still went in the garbage.  However, I've been wandering around my house thinking about what could go and what would have to be kept.  David and I discuss every decision, and we're finding that there is no problem with 80% of the things we have.  Probably more if we really get down to the "nitty gritty".  For sure you will be getting 2, each, of Mom's saucer plates--- some how.  But how about the "pig" jar?  I think we all have one, but mine was the original.  However it is missing an ear, and is probably the most beaten up of them all.  Not even in good enough shape for a thrift store.

Anyway, that is about all that's going on here.  I think of you both often.  All of this gives me a feeling of "the end", although that may not actually be true.  But my mind is going through more of a life review, and that enhances my thoughts of "family'.  Stay safe my sisters.  I love you.

  1. Hi both...No, I do not have a "Pig" and never did, but I really do not want one at this point now. I have the pictures and the wall hanging that you made Pati to remind me of those happy times. XX
