Waiting for the snow storm to come in...

Good evening, The day is almost done and I look forward to getting into bed and read a bit before lights out. You would not believe what I am actually reading right now. It come into my hands as we cleaned up and found boxes of books. L.M. Montgomery and Anne of Avonlea. This book is ages old and the inscription on the front page indicates a gift from someone to someone dated Xmas of 43. I just got a book from the Library on Wed and then yesterday Daisy's granddaughter brought me the latest of Steve Berry's Cotton Malone books called The Last Kingdom (from her father who buys them and reads them and then gives to me). He has given me the entire collection and I really do not know what to do with them all - afraid to give them away in case he would be offended. So I better get reading....

There is a Snow squall warning in effect for this evening and tonight. And the night temperature is forecast to be minus 14 C so I have secured the two heated greenhouses and will hope for the best. From now on and for the next two weeks the temps are good so no worries related to potential freezing inside. Everything is growing wild and Harry has not had a chance to get in and do much transplanting lately although I have been looking after them and doing the watering so they are not dry and neglected.

Today I drove over to Daisy's place to help her granddaughter clean up the basement ( I know, I have enough to do at my place ) but the Oil  company is coming in Thursday to install a new oil tank to replace the old one because their insurance was cancelled until they got a new one. Her parents are still in Toronto because of medical appointments so she had to make a quick run up here to arrange for the work. Other wise I have been looking after the house and watering the plants for them while they are all in Toronto at their own house.  So I took an hour and half  out of my time to help her out. Doesn't hurt once in awhile to be kind.

We are doing well in our own cleaning and still finding treasures. By coincidence, we received a flyer in the mail that on March 30 a company who buys gold and silver and jewelry and collectibles of all kinds is coming to Sundridge for one day. I shall be cleaning tons of silver ware we have found to take, and Harry thinks he may take his trading cards. I have some jewelry that may be gold but I do not know for sure. We have so many other items that may fit into one of their categories but of course cannot take too much so I am being selective.

Take care all, and be sure I am thinking of you and wishing you the best in your activities of late Pati, and Cathy with your recent surprise compromise. Be good...😄💜
