Spring??

 Those of us under a blizzard warning tend to doubt it!  The storm arrived a few hours later than forecast but it definitely arrived. We haven’t left the house today. And you know you are predictable when you get contacted from the legion to ask if you are coming in cause they want to close early😜. Lucky wanted to go out but when I opened the door he stuck his nose out, turned and gave me the “how could you!” look and went back to his carpet. I can’t say I blame him. He’ll be happy tomorrow with all the fresh snow to play in. Jim and I went to Brandon on Friday (he had an appointment). Left home at 10:30 and we’re home by just after 1:00. We stopped at one store , found an ink cartridge for my printer, and left. And we made history by NOT stopping at A&W!  First time for everything😊.  Replacing my ink cartridge was an adventure. I could not figure out how to put it in!  Nothing was where it should be. Finally I pulled it out and somehow the power cord had pulled out. Do you think I could figure out where to plug it back in. I turned it backwards, foreword, upside down!  Nothing!  Finally, in tears of frustration, I put it back where it sits and right there in front of me was the power slot. I don’t know how I missed it. So I plugged it in and the cartridge holder rolled out of its hiding place and I put the ink right in. And my printer worked again. Very stressful😜.  We have been watching the curling. It seems there is going to be something happening every week for the next month. Jim will be happy.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
