Sunday

 As usual, I started off strong and by 1:30 my body was done, even if the work wasn’t. I spent time in the garden this morning. I couldn’t get the tiller or the Weed Eater started (I didn’t try too hard😜) so I weeded by hand again. It’s a terrible thing to confess, but some of the weeds were so large I actually bruised my finger pulling them out!  I found some more beans to pick but I think they will only be good for soup or stews. They were a bit big. I made a batch of freezer cucumber salad. I just couldn’t keep up with the cucumbers. I’m getting a bit tired of cucumber sandwiches.  I’ve got the sprinkler on the garden, but only for about 45 minutes. There is supposed to be rain tonight, but I didn’t want to leave the garden totally dry in case the rain doesn’t come. I went to a surprise birthday party yesterday. The family had invited a number of people over but then the birthday boy (61!) figured he was cooking a large brisket so he figured he would invite some people over for supper and invited the same people! He knew about the supper but had no idea about the rest of it!  The food was delicious.  And a Black Forest birthday cake!  Tomorrow I have another appointment with the gastroenterologist. I hope it doesn’t take all day☹️.   And I just had a call from Beth!  So I guess she already know everything I’ve written, but it’s always nice to read the blog. There are tornado warnings west of us, and watches north and east of us, but nothing for us!  I think I’ll sit downstairs for a while anyway. Love you guys♥️♥️

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
