AND--we had a garage sale!!!

Got rid of a lot of stuff, including the big white wing chair from the living room, and several of the shelving units from the basement.  Four of the five bookcases are spoken for.  Amber is taking the bar fridge and "Lion".  I'm glad he's going to a good home.  She evidently has a concrete dragon to keep him company.  We even sold the little gargoyle that used to live under the small table at the end of my hall, and actually got rid of all of the wine making material. Loren and Amber were great.  They provided a lot of energy, salesmanship, and basic muscle needed for the sale, as well as a big truck (Darren's) to help deliver stuff to its new home on the next street over.  David and I did as much planning and organization as we could leading up to the sale, but Loren essentially took over during the organization Friday night and the actual sale.

He also told us that Mary Overwater's (can't remember her married name) son Mike had died recently with cancer. A lot of our conversations were around generational changes, how things are passed down, and how family rituals and legends are downright unreliable.  From a family perspective it was a wonderful day.

After the basic clean up Loren drove the two of us to the casino for supper.  After which and a bit of play, we came home up almost as much as as we had raised at the sale.  So, a good day from every perspective.

And now for the clean-up, and then move onto the next part of the job of getting ready to move-notifying all and sundry of our address change.
