AND--we had a garage sale!!!

Got rid of a lot of stuff, including the big white wing chair from the living room, and several of the shelving units from the basement.  Four of the five bookcases are spoken for.  Amber is taking the bar fridge and "Lion".  I'm glad he's going to a good home.  She evidently has a concrete dragon to keep him company.  We even sold the little gargoyle that used to live under the small table at the end of my hall, and actually got rid of all of the wine making material. Loren and Amber were great.  They provided a lot of energy, salesmanship, and basic muscle needed for the sale, as well as a big truck (Darren's) to help deliver stuff to its new home on the next street over.  David and I did as much planning and organization as we could leading up to the sale, but Loren essentially took over during the organization Friday night and the actual sale.  He also told us that Mary Overwater's (can't remember her married name) son Mike had died rec...

I am not old!

Too bad my body disagrees😜. Sunday I golfed (I use the term “golf” loosely). Thinking ahead I did nothing to strain my body Sunday morning and headed out feeling pretty good.  Except I had to wear shoes. I have not worn shoes in a couple of months.  Got there and got our cart.  Then found Wayne and asked him to show us how to drive the cart. He said sure and then drove away quickly!!   Barb and I jerked our way to load our clubs and figure out where to go. We stuttered to a stop near other carts (didn’t hit one!) and found Wayne. We did not let him out of our sight cause we started on Hole 3 and had no idea how to get there!   Time to head out arrived for us and our cart was surrounded by other carts. It looked like it was going to be a lot of back and forth with fingers crossed to get out. Wayne and Diane drove up, Wayne just shook his head at us , hopped out and just climbed in one of the other darts and moved it out of the way. Gee!  That have ne...

🎢 Wasn't That A Party...🎡

Hello and hello to you both  πŸ₯° Just getting animals fed and tidying up in preparation for a short, quiet evening of reading. I went to the Library today and took out a new novel by Thomas Perry called Hero (2024). The series called Jane Whitfield  I was looking for is not available but the first book of that series ( Vanishing Act 1993)  has been ordered. As well, Kelly Bowen books were not available but the novel  The Paris Apartment (2021) has been ordered.   These authors were the ones you individually recommended. Once again I enjoyed our call today - always a good laugh if nothing else πŸ€ͺ. And thinking of you Pati and Dave as you get through this hectic week and hopefully with good resolution come next Tuesday. And thinking of you Cathy as you spend a Saturday "ticket selling" and a Sunday swinging your clubs at a golf ball at your Tournament. Take care my Sisters.... XX πŸ˜šπŸ’–

Well, I finally did it

Made a fool of myself, that is.    Friday I was making supper and turned the oven on to cook French Fries. Then started dealing with the meat.  After a few minutes I noticed smoke coming out of the oven. I remembered that I had stored things there to hide them.  Quickly turned the over off.  By that time my screams had brought David to see what was going on.  We opened the oven door and smoke billowed out.  David grabbed a couple of pot holders and pulled the rack out and we rushed it outside with its load of place matts, plastic cutting boards and my jar of pens.  He dropped it down on top of a recycling box.  We turned on the exhaust fans and opened all of the doors and windows, leaving things that way, for the evening and over night ( with the doors closed). Now three days later the smell of smoke appears to be gone. The place matts are toast, as is the oven rack ( melted plastic from the place matts). The hot metal of the oven rack m...

My. how things change with time

Hi to you both,  And not too much to share from my perspective - garden, rain, garden, rain and repeat. πŸ˜’ But how excited I am about the move Pati. I realize that "excitement" may not be on your mind at this moment ....as there are things to do....right? But it will all get done and before you know it....there you are, settled and comfortable in your new home.  I shall be following best I can if you are able to share anything about your life as it is now. And our Sisters video call for next Friday , I am sure, will be highlighted with up dates from you. In meantime, take care, be kind to yourself, and hope you keep that great smile of yours on your face ... bright and cheerful πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜ Love πŸ’ž

Our chatter together

Hi again,  😁 Just a quick note to follow up with our video chat . It was very nice for me to see you both and hear about "what's going on" and look forward to our next call. I almost did not want to put a new blog on as I loved logging on and seeing the Wedding Pictures pop up. But, they are still there so that is good. And I enjoyed hearing all about the day Pati. Anything with Family is always special for me to feel as if I am connected to it all in spite of being so far away. Take care both of you...πŸ₯°πŸ’•
