Good Friday to you both...(again... haha)

 Hello,

Friday seems to come around every week...how come? The weather forecast here appears to be glorious for at least the next two weeks - with a flash of some rain and maybe a thunderstorm thrown in to make it exciting.  I always look at the night temperatures of course, thinking of the plants outside and possibly the need to cover if frost might be imminent. 😒

Speaking of plants I took a picture of some of the trilliums growing in our yard. They are at their best right now. 


And a few tulips in the garden. The Spring flowers are fewer this year than in previous years, We had only one daffodil. 




Greetings on this May 24 Long Weekend...even if it is only May 17. Funny how this "used to be exciting" weekend just comes and goes for me now without much fanfare. I am sure there will be someone lighting fireworks in the neighbourhood so I should hear some bangs bangs. The Village usually has fireworks on Canada Day. Ay present there is no fire ban around here but I feel for the other areas of Canada, (Manitoba included) struggling with the wild fires.

Take care my sisters.. Enjoy some sunny days sitting out with a cuppa. The black flies season is with me right now which makes for an unpleasant sit out, or even working in the yard.  💕ðŸĪŠ

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
