Ahh yes, the weekend
It occurs here as well, with the only thing to tell that it's happening is the laundry being done on Friday. This is not a complaint! The only event during the past week was my ladies group in Landmark on Tuesday. A longer drive than the previous group, but a much more gentle, pleasant group. I recently heard a rumour that several other ladies have left the previous group, so maybe it wasn't only me who grew upset and offended at the racism and conspiracy theories that took over the group. How unfortunate! I had been a part of the previous group for almost 9 years.
So this week my effort at finding a balance between housework and studio time consumed most of my time. Other than the laundry, my task for today is to "polish my sink". That job has became a bit of a joke around here. A friend, known as a potential candidate for "Hoarders", found a support group where she was told that the first step was to "polish her sink". She did, and became quite vocal about how attempting to do this took a full day and resulted in her changing the appearance of the whole kitchen, as one thing led to another. Hope that doesn't happen here.
The two small hangings I've been working for my "Divas" group were delivered a week ago Wednesday. Since then I've been working on a couple of charity quilts, one that I had almost finished some time ago and one from scratch. They are both sandwiched and ready for machine quilting. Last time the charity quilt lady was here she said that she could use scraps, so I've packed up a box of scraps and small yardage pieces for her. If she's receptive to that, I may go a little further and pack up two boxes for next time.
We did have some hail last week. I've never seen anything like it as the patio was covered and you could see the hail bouncing along through the grass. David had hung the hanging baskets and filled the old sink a couple of days before. More very heavy rain is predicted for later today and tomorrow, and I look at the bedding plants we bought and see almost $100 floating away.
That's about it for today. Be safe ladies and bring the canoe close to the house in case you get the rain as well.
p.s. After posting this I went onto Facebook, where my friend Gail was announcing an ark building party and asking everyone to bring their own hammers, saws, hammers and wood.
