The Social

Yes, the "game-playing" social was yesterday.  Loren had warned us that there was little parking, so we took a cab.  What a surprise when we pulled up at a samosa restaurant!  For some reason we had thought it was a private home, and I think there was a residence upstairs. It was on the riverbank, right across the Red River from our old home. Jeremy found us a table, a deck of cards, a crib board, and a couple of pieces of cake.  The hamburgers were being cooked on a b-b-q outside, with the men in Jeremy's family taking turns as "grill master". The noise volume inside was deafening, so much so that I didn't realize that the woman sitting behind me had a very tiny baby until we were leaving.  We stayed about an hour and a half, playing cribbage when neither of us could either shuffle or deal.  Amber, Darren and Samantha showed up shortly before we left, delayed by volleyball practice.  Jeremy and Denise did a "walk about" just after Amber and family arrived, so we were able to see and talk to them both. Loren let us know that both of you had sent something, and asked that I thank you.

Then we took a cab home, got the car and went out for the evening.

David is experiencing some problems with his dentures and we tried to get in to see the dentist today, without luck, but a "maybe" for 11:30 tomorrow. Meanwhile I'm expecting my friend Vivian from Pinawa, to pick up the pieces she bought, this afternoon. Since there has been no housework done since Friday, not even unloading the dishwasher (the evidence is piling up on the counter)I best get busy.  Last time Vivian was here, was the first day of demo in the kitchen and the stove was in the middle of the living room.  Ar-r-r-r-gh!

I'm good, just run off my feet these days. I think you may have tried to phone while we were out grocery shopping earlier in the week.  David hasn't been able to eat much, but we keep trying to find something he might be able to manage.  I think we're getting somewhere as he's now eating yogurt.  Never thought I'd see the day!

Stay safe ladies.
