A week on a roller coaster

While Monday was a provincial holiday, we spent most of the day getting ready for my Divas meeting.  That is almost a lie as we kept getting side tracked with various things (Hey! Squirrel)  So Tuesday there was more prep work, but also, David had teeth removed in the morning, which left him in pretty rough shape.  Wednesday morning he had a developing black eye and bruising all down the left of his face close to the nose and bruised lip. Wednesday the ladies did come to the back door as requested, shouted and walked in.  There were nine of them including one potential member who had a wonderful time.  We'll being seeing more of her, I think.  I had laid out everything I was willing to part with, asking nothing, but saying I would accept small donations small donation.  Even so, I did well.

After they left, we were both exhausted but also feeling a little "high".  David had been resting all day and was feeling somewhat better, and we had nothing he could eat ready for supper, so we headed out, with me promising that we would head home whenever he said so.  We both enjoyed ourselves, came home "to the good", and were in bed early.

Thursday we woke to a phone call that asked if we could come into David's post surgery check up early as they had a cancelation, knew I was busy in the afternoon and that the timing was tight.  It was a matter of "how soon can you get here?", with us in our nighties.  Did I mention that the dentist is on Corydon a block east of Route 90? So, quickly dressed off we go.  It was a quick check-up.  David is doing very well and back on his blood thinners after being off them starting 4 days before his extractions.  Then off home via the bank. I had a quick breakfast at about 1:00 before heading off to have coffee with Vivian from Pinawa and another mutual friend.   This had been arranged via e-mail just over a month ago, and I had been worrying about the dentistry issue interfering with it.  It was wonderful, and such a joy to me.

So just to move into the ridiculous, this morning I was up early, got dressed and headed back to the dentist for my appointment to have my teeth cleaned.  She was amazed at  how much dentistry I've had and complimentary in telling me she could see that I'd been flossing.  Poor David got stuck with the laundry today. Only half is finished.  I had suggested that we might be happy if only the sheets were washed so I was quite pleased to see how far he got.

Tomorrow evening we have tickets for a concert at Club Regent with Tina Turner and Rod Stewart impersonators.  We enjoyed the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers impersonators we saw awhile ago, and hope this is just as good, although we were late getting tickets and will be sitting up in the bleachers.

And now it's time for supper.  David is only able to eat a soft diet, and cooking is a challenge, but tonight we both agreed to KD.  I have an English cucumber that needs using so will probably add that.  This week has also been good to me at the scale.

Stay safe ladies, and maybe we can see each other again soon.
