We get a new computer

David's computer has been getting slower and slower to the point that some functions had actually stopped.  We've spent time chatting with Bell/MTS. I have spent several hours with The Geek Squad, including finding out that our yearly payment didn't go through last August when there was a problem with David's credit card. Then there was time with PlayNow.com support as that site was giving us the most problem.  Loren re-booted our modem--didn't help.  So we went out yesterday and bought a laptop for him.  We took the old computer along in case they would be able to do a data transfer right away.  Unfortunately, the computer had to be ordered in, so we brought the old one home.  He plugged it in and it started working as though there was no problem.  Despite all of the strategies we tried over the past week all that appears to have been needed was a re-boot of the computer itself.

He's happy, but we've contracted to buy a new one with Windows 11, which I'll have to try to learn and then help David learn. (Windows 10 will no longer be supported within the next 18 to 20 months)  I've already sweat bullets dealing with this and, as of supper time didn't give flying fig about the whole thing, especially after spending the morning discussing dentures with a different dentist, a venture that is also going to cost more money than I want to spend.

But--ta da--this afternoon I get to go to Lorette.  The weather is supposed to be delightful, and I have a new EPP project to take.  Yes, last evening I started a new project.  I'm excited and "hot to trot".

The rest of the week is busy, but I'll try to keep up with the blogging.  In the meantime, stay safe, especially with the icy roads and sidewalks.
