Snow is in the air......

...if not already on the ground as I hear from forecasts out your way. I am almost confident that i will be prepared for Winter this year with all that i have tried to accomplish lately outside in the yard. I think that I have often mentioned the privacy i enjoy when the next door neighbours are away in their home in Holland for the Winter. Well....it appears that things are changing. The daughter of my dear friend Ruth ( deceased three years now) who lived across the street with her husband Gerd, has arrived from Vernon, British Columbia with her husband to take up residence in Ontario. This past Summer she visited and bought a lot in South River ( next town up) They arrived by car this past week and appear to have set up home next door. I assume that they have rented the house from her Uncle and Aunt in Holland, but maybe they are just offering them the use of it - who knows. I do not intend to seek further info unless in speaking with Gerd i get the lowdown. In meantime, their grown son moved to Ontario two years ago and lives across the street in Gerds house ( his grandfather) with his partner - all three of them. It is a family affair of sorts haha! Back to my original comment...I no longer can enjoy the comfort of privacy now - i have the window blinds pulled up high for the indoor plants that are flourishing in that room at the back. I may have to reconsider that but for now will leave it go.

On another note I went up to the Arena on my own yesterday ( Harry was not feeling up to it) and got my Covid 19 vaccination along with my flu shot for this year at the Public Health Clinic. In and out in 15 minutes. No problem ....however, for the first time, I find my arm very painful this morning so I shall have to give myself the luxury of a "rest" day today.

Also yesterday i took the vehicle into Service and got the Winter tires put on, and multi maintenance done and they had to do the brakes. Fortunately the brakes did not have to be replaced but instead they cleaned them ( or whatever they do) and state they should be fine. But the bill exceeded my expectations and I had to bow out paying it at the time until our Pensions come in end of this week. I have never had to do this before and have always paid as I go so felt a bit sheepish. Oh I guess I'll live with the shame..... haha!

I am enjoying a bowl of porridge for my breakfast this morning - this tells me my mind and body are moving into Winter mode - too soon.

Take care both of you...and remember I am here and always have you two (and yours) on my mind XX
