Holding pattern
Seems like the best way to describe Cathy and Jim's life, and even ours. At our visit to the Denturist last week, David was diagnosed with an infection in his mouth, and given anti-biotics, as his first extractions are tomorrow. He's reacted somewhat to the anti-biotics, and is feeling "out-of-sorts", sleeping a lot and generally taking it easy.
We have been sorting out the freezer, to a certain extent, resulting in us roasting two chickens this week, and more-or-less living on chicken sandwiches. But--today the chicken runs out and we have to find something else for supper. Since I don't feel like cooking a big meal (ever!) I have a hunch that spaghetti is in our future, although maybe better tomorrow, after the extractions. Could be I might just have to cook a slightly bigger meal than I have in awhile.
We both got haircuts last week, me on Friday, after which I went across the mall to Starbucks and sat reading for about 30 minutes. It's been a long time since I had the chance to do something like that. It's too bad that the prices in Starbucks have increased so much. It was really a bit too expensive for me before, but is now an occasional treat, at best. Saturday we both went for pedicures--always a treat.
I've been doing the exercises prescribed by the physio most days. He said that I didn't have to do them all at the same time and that works for me. All together is too much, and yet one or two at a time seems almost too easy. This is showing results. I don't know why this surprises me.
Overall, our lifestyle is leading to a less clean house than I prefer. I wrote out a "to do" list--a long list. Then I carefully filed it at the back of my BuJo and forgot about it. What I do want to do is to work on the quilt I started in my class last Saturday. I have all of the small pieces cut, ready to sew together. That would complete a good portion of the quilt, leaving only the border--a fairly simple finish.
But now I must go off and find something simple for supper. Always thinking of you both, but with an extra prayer for Cathy and Jim these days. Stay safe ladies.
