Getting back to our Blog

 With all that has been happening with us lately, our telephone calls and emails have taken precedence over the Blog - and rightly so. We are dealing with what we have to deal with in a timely manner regarding updates and the like. And, that will likely continue as needed. Without saying much more about this, I am thinking of you both. 💏

So I sit here and sip at my special Chai Tea Latte that I just made with the Tim Hortons Chai Tea bags I have stored in a neat little jar, and using my Milk Frother machine and adding the unique flavour of Matteos Vanilla Syrup. It is a treat for me and I make it sparingly to ensure I have the right ingredients on hand (I hoard my delights) And I will make it only at the right moment in time and the most appropriate time for me. Today was that moment.

It is dismal outside so no working in the yard today. Instead I have had a steady workout with the washing machine and the huge pile of dirty clothes. They, too, tend to accumulate around here when there is the outside work to attend to. And somehow, no one else in this house seems to notice but me haha!

Shame on me...I whipped up a batch of refridgerator cookies last week and rolled the dough up into small rolls wrapped individually and then froze them. Yesterday was the right time to bring out a roll, bake them and then eat them all. But isn't that why we prepare them as we do in the first place?  Close at hand, ready to pop in the oven and quick and easy.....there you are. 

The car needs servicing and since that too, is my job, I have made an appt for next Tuesday for the multi check maintenance , oil change, and to switch summer tires to winter tires - all at the same time ( to try to keep the costs down best I can but as per usual that never really seems to work.)  And in keeping with my new found goal to take care of myself better, I have made an appt with the Dentist office for the Hygenist cleaning and Dentist check scheduled for Nov 2. Gives me some time to start to floss like I am supposed to do but rarely do . I bought a package of those little individual picky things and have found that they are superior to my trying to use the waxed floss off the roll. Time will tell.

So I have kept you enthralled with my life to date long enough. Time to sign off and feed the animals.

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
