Almost time for a break from the recent craziness
And about time too. I was exhausted, and I'm sure David was exhausted from my exhaustion! Yesterday was my workshop at a nearby quilt shop. There were only 6 of us, and most of the work didn't require instruction, so the instructor, who was also the shop owner came and went. Often when she was with us it was just for social interaction. The Kit, with full instructions, was provided, and she went over the instructions thoroughly before letting us loose with any cutting, and most of the day was spent just doing that--cutting. All the tools were provided, and the rotary cutter I was given was terrible, so I spent most of the day with shears. Thank Goodness, I thought to take them, as my hands and elbows have had enough cutting for awhile.
This was the last scheduled event for me until the next Craft Sale on Nov. 25. Not so for David. We see the denturist on Tuesday. and his first working appt. with the Oral Surgeon next Monday. There will be a total of 3 sessions with the surgeon before the end of the year. That is just the first step. After the New Year the denturist gets busy.
The 90 Day purge is just about over. (that was a fast 90 days!) Now I'll be moving into making a bunch of donation quilts to use up as much of the commercial fabric as I can. There are also 2-3 quilts that we've found forgotten in drawers etc. They have never been used, and the group I donate to take all sizes of quilt, not just the ones for babies, so slap on a label and off they go. But on the brighter side, Gail's friend Laurie, who visited to check out the stash on Thursday, bought one of my hangings while she was here--The Juncos. I love that piece and now I know it has a good home. She has hung it in an alcove in her living room.
So, relax today before going out for a restaurant turkey dinner. We're even taking a cab so we can enjoy wine with our meal. We are roasting a chicken, one that desperately needed roasting, tomorrow, and I've bought some buns for us to make chicken sandwiches for us to live on for the next couple of days. That will be our Thanksgiving. Cathy I know you'll be seeing your family--how nice for you. Remember us to Jim when you're talking to him.
Have a great weekend ladies, but stay safe.
