Chaos?
Yesterday, we had a man come to service the air conditioner, first thing in the morning, which meant getting up with the birds. Not my favourite way to spend the morning. We found out that it was likely installed around 1985. If it breaks down, it must be replaced as it contains Freon--now an illegal product. It appears to be working fine, and he recommended that we just keep it going until it dies. Then, shortly after he left, people came to clean the rugs and both of our living room chairs.
Then we went out to run a few errands, while the carpet was wet. We bought a new set of bamboo sheets for the twin bed, but also picked up some spare pillow cases. OMG! They are HUGE! Then to Walmart to pick up pills, Then a car wash, followed by a visit to the credit union to sort out a couple of bills, and finally off to find some sort of casual footwear for David. He's been wearing slippers from Walmart both in the house and in the garden, but they stretch out and get loose and sloppy very quickly. As well, he's been wearing boots of one sort or another all of his working life--steel toed for work and western when out of the house otherwise. We ran into a bit of "sticker shock" when looking at good shoes, but overcame it and found some very nice casual shoes for him. Finally, it was out for supper, and the evening.
Bed time was shortly after midnight, then it was up at 7:30 in expectation of a 8:30 visit from a fellow who is to check out and clean up the furnace. Nine o'clock now and he hasn't shown up yet. So maybe time for breakfast, but I plan to go back to bed once he's gone.
