A quick message

 Hi to you both,

I see the sun in the sky this morning and thought it was worthy of  special mention haha! I am so excited although there is more rain forecast for today - it is always nice to start with some sunshine.

I just booked us both for our next Covid 19 boosters, as we received a message from the Ministry of Health saying we were now eligible. And it is nice that we can just go over to the local Arena as we have done before as the Health Unit is having a Clinic on May 17. I had thought we may have to drive up to North Bay but not necessary.

In my sorting through and moving this and that in the basement, I finally got to see inside my cedar chest which has been hidden away since about 1988 when we finished the basement..... really ! I was very excited to open the lid as I had no idea what I had hidden in there - I thought it was just my old Nursing Student uniforms and grad uniform that I saved (for some reason unknown haha). Guess what..more fabric and patterns and batting and that was the first layer. So i closed the lid quick to go through it another time when i could look at it all in a timely fashion. My goal was to extricate the cedar chest from its hiding place of so many years, and have a look, just because it is precious. My chest from Dad is extremely heavy so I cannot move it about easily. But I was glad to have done what i did so far.

Another day and hope to get outside for a bit and do some work. Harry is very anxious to do more planting and I, of course, get to help him 😢

The energy-sucking garage sale panic is over.

  We both made it through the day without faltering, very much looking forward to a good nap once things were over.  But then were so high couldn't sleep.  Both Loren and Amber were there to help us, with Amber stopping at Tim's for breakfast on her way.   I was up and immediately dressed at 7:00 (Omg!  It even hurts to be able to say that)  Then off in the car to set up 5 signs.  Of course, each stop one has to find a place to park, get out of the car, place the sign, and reverse the process.  That finished, I parked in the mall across the way, pulled my walker out of the car, and trudged off home.  I was so glad to have the walker during the day, mainly because the float was hidden in the small zipper compartment in the walker and I sat on it most of the day.  We moved the patio table and umbrella to the front yard.  Amber and I spent most of the day there, while Loren and Dave spent their time in the garage, until later in t...

Baking

  Yesterday I forgot to mention that I've become concerned about how much money we've been spending on muffins.  So I decided to try baking them on my own.  We got rid of all my baking pans at the garage sale so had to make a trip to Dollarama for a new one.  It's silicone and soft and wiggly, but also dishwasher safe.  I've made some Blueberry muffins that didn't rise very well.  Turned out the baking powder was over a year past it's "best before" date.  Went out and bought more. I've found recipes on-line for Banana Chocolate Chip, Chocolate, and another Blueberry that uses frozen berries rather than thawed--great--as all of mine are Frozen.  I'm also going to look for a recipe for Bran, but not today.

Yes. It is Sunday again

  Time keeps passing. Faster and faster every day. We had freezing rain last night and this morning but it seems to have stopped for now, but that damp chill goes right through me!  Lucky and Ally are both sleeping so is almost like having time to myself. I did walk Lucky this morning but we stayed off the road. We went around the trail cause it wasn’t icy. Less dangerous for both of us. I snuggled down this weekend but I will have to venture out tomorrow.  Hopefully the roads will be clear. They don’t look bad right now so it is promising. I get my flu shot on Wednesday and Ally has a vet appointment on Friday. And I’m going to call for a lawyer appointment tomorrow.  Chloe is going to have her “old people” birthday party on the 18th. Kik and I will go together. And I told Kik I would go to Winnipeg with her on the 14th. I hate the time change.
