And why are we still getting snow and more snow?

Good snowy morning. I loved the editorial picture in the WFP this morning - Wanted for overstaying his welcome and there was a snowman. Perfect sentiment from me. It is time to move on... but in meantime, it means more shoveling this morning before we start out on another busy day. Up to North Bay again for Harry to have a "scan" done at the hospital. Hoping the highways will be cleared by then.  The little greenhouse is flourishing with little tomatoes and parsley and kale and other such vegetables popping up in green sprouts and wanting to grow even bigger. This means transplanting and also means we need more space. It appears that the big greenhouse will have to be reopened and reheated and then we move plants over. Harry bought three more huge bags of soil so I guess he means business.  Have been doing a bit more cleaning up here - Pati your "purging" news from the past year or so has started to permeate into my life for which I am grateful. Only, it is the a...

Why is it always windy when warm

Today is -2, but with wind gusts of 55k. It is a west wind so it blows straight down our road. I went out with Lucky but as soon as we got off our lane and the wind hit he stopped and turned around. He ended up dragging me through the yard and as he bounced along I was in snow over my knees. By the time we got to the west door I was done. He does love diving into the deep snow.  I found the stairs for the front deck and we went into the house through the living room and back downstairs. (Much to Jim’s confusion😜). We finally went shopping today, after putting it off for over a week. I just close my eyes at the prices these days. I did get a cheap spring jacket and Jim got some new jeans. He burst through the knee of his old ones while we were out. And we found a lettuce and tomatoes on sale !  (At more than I used to pay regularly) but I am anticipating salad again. I read the news again Thursday morning and then our car goes in for repairs (warranty😊) on Thursday aft...

Monday? When did Monday happen?

So the week starts.  Stayed home, other than a couple of trips to Starbucks, over the weekend. I have been invited to a less than formal luncheon, at the collegiate in Lorette, on Wednesday.  The lady from the municipality of T ache, is wanting to form some sort of inter-generational alliance between our craft group and students at the school. Evidentially, some of the students visited the group, on a day I missed, and are enthusiastic about learning more about some of the crafts, and hope to achieve that learning via our group.  I think I mentioned that many of our group are retired school teachers.  Those ladies are quite divided between "no way in hell", and "great, let's go", attitudes.  I think I want to know more about what might be expected before committing myself to anything.  I also think I could  play the "I don't live in Tache municipality" card, if I have to.  Treading softly here, and probably won't volunteer for much, althoug...

Nice "title" Cathy...

Good morning,   It took me a minute to appreciate it but that was because I was still in a fog from early rise and taking the dogs out in very cold conditions. Also I had my coffee to make and enjoy yet. Good excuse? I am so excited to seeing our new Blog and anxious to start to fill in the lines and share what we do. Do not expect much from this writer though unless you enjoy hearing about my woes with the greenhouse and shoveling snow haha!  When will this snow end. Looking at the long range forecast over next two weeks for Sundridge I see nothing but flurries, snow, and more flurries. We were too fast way back tin November and December to brag about having no snow and perhaps a green winter....NOT. The visit to Physio yesterday left me exhausted from the workout and yet, exhilarated from the encouragement given. I am improving. yeah! I have four new exercises to do but some of the previous ones have been eliminated in my daily routine. We continue to look in boxes and purge...

A post, boss! A post!!

Meat draw was a success.   We won a tray of hamburger and only spent $60 on tickets. (Only $20 on meat draw. The rest were 50/50 and chase the ace. We each buy a set ).   We are coming out of our cold snap starting tomorro w. It may only have been a week but it seems so much longer. Lucky went crazy today burying himself in the snowbanks. He actually got 3/4 of his body buried and was so happy!! I gave Jim the choice of perogies or pizza tomorrow and he picked perogies ☹️. I shouldn’t have given him the choice but Sunday will be pizza😊.  Perogies are quick so perhaps that is a better choice for a Saturday. Sunday at home gives lots of time for a homemade pizza. Jim likes yeast crust so time is an element to consider. Tomorrow I only have fresh stuff on my shopping list . Jim has determined that pickles count as a vegetable so I am trying to figure out how to dispel that theory. (I do have lots of veggies in the freezer). And, of course, even though I am retired, tomorrow...

What to say? What to say?

So here we are starting a new adventure.  Good Luck to us.  Somehow I want to be very profound.  Not going to happen. and with all of the errors & typos it's going to take a long time to actually get something in print.  I had no trouble setting up the blogs, although there are a couple of mistakes floating around.  these damn things never die, nor do they fade away.  They just sit on the internet blocking traffic--forever.  I also have another one that replaces the Mouse Factory.  It's title may be  "Pat's Studio Time".  Once I get a couple of glitches sorted out I'll see if I can get you both a correct address.  Did you know that The Geek Squad appears to want nothing to do with blogs?  But they did get me to where I needed to go to set the blogs up. Oh Yeah! It's been a fun time around here! Loren is home from Thai Land.  We all followed him on Facebook.  He sent some wonderful pictures, mainly of scenery and f...

And the third sister arrives

I made it into the new improved sisters talk. Now I have to add a new bookmark. 😜 I am on my phone right now and will tackle my computer later. Love you♥️

Here we are again

With much gratitude to our sister Pati, of we Three Sisters, we may be on the road again. This venue has been our communication avenue for years and during the short pause (for technical reasons) I, for one, have missed it terribly. So here is to years of more fun and news and simply just ramblings. Love it all... the Be in PaBeCat. XX

A new start.

Welcome to the new and improved McGrath sisters' blog.  We'll see how this works out once we're all here.
